What I'm taking on
Camps International run youth expeditions all over the world, combining hands-on community projects with conservation work and proper adventure — treks, wildlife work, real cultural experiences — over a few weeks at a time. They work alongside local communities rather than just visiting them, which is exactly why I wanted to go with them rather than travel somewhere on my own.

Day to day, I'll be working on a real mix of projects — from conservation work like tree planting and helping protect wildlife, to hands-on community building like construction and improving local facilities. I'll also get to spend time with a local women's group, meet the Maasai tribe, trek through the Marungu Hills, and go on safari at Tsavo East National Park.
As you can see, I'm aiming to fundraise to get myself to Kenya, rather than just having my parents cover it. My overall target is £4,500, though I'd love to hit at least £3,000 along the way. Any donation, of any amount, is so helpful and really appreciated — thank you.
A bit about me
I'm Josh, I'm 14, and I'll be heading into Year 10 when I get back to school after the summer holidays. Football's my main passion — I support Norwich City and play for a local grassroots team. I also enjoy Pokémon and spending time on the water on my paddleboard. What appealed to me most about this trip was the chance to volunteer and actually help people. Plus, how many opportunities will I get to visit Kenya in my lifetime?
